World Fisheries Day was established in 1984 in accordance with the decision of the International Conference on Fisheries Management and Development and has been celebrated annually since 1985. Fishing is one of the most common “hobbies” of people. Fishing is usually done by men, but in recent years the number of women interested in this activity has been increasing.
