World Wildlife Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the diversity and beauty of wild fauna and flora, and helps raise awareness of the human benefits of conservation. The Day also reminds us of the need to strengthen the fight against wildlife crime, which has far-reaching economic, environmental and social consequences. Halting biodiversity loss is one of the targets of Sustainable Development Goal 15.
