For reference: it has been two years since the start of the mass movement "Yashil Makon" in the country. During this period, over 1,200 hectares of green gardens and public parks have been created, along with over 1 million hectares of green plantations along streets and sidewalks. The autumn tree planting season for this year is scheduled from October 25th to December 1st.
At the initiative of the President, tree planting and the expansion of green areas have become a major movement. This autumn, 85 million seedlings are planned to be planted. The Forestry Agency will deliver 200 seedlings to each mahalla free of charge. Additionally, tree seedling fairs are being held in all districts and mahallas since October 15th.
It is worth mentioning that recently, during the official visit of the President of France to Uzbekistan, the heads of the two states, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emmanuel Macron, jointly planted a tree after high-level negotiations.
It should be noted that the tradition of tree planting is more relevant than ever today. Most events held in the country with the participation of international organizations and foreign delegations traditionally end with the planting of plant objects, which directly contributes to the promotion of ecological culture among the population.
Thanks to the work carried out in the Arnasay district around fields, canals, and along highways, as well as in 13 mahallas, 12,300 tree seedlings adapted to the region's climatic conditions have already been planted. Meanwhile, in the Muynak district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 4,000 saxaul shrubs have been planted. The process is actively ongoing.
In addition, the "Actual 40 Days" campaign is held in all regions of the republic within the framework of the "Yashil Makon" project. Throughout the autumn period of tree planting, specialists of regional and district Departments of Ecology carry out explanatory work to give the population the necessary recommendations for planting and caring for tree seedlings in each region.
It is worth noting that tree planting is a noble value of the Uzbek people. Do not remain indifferent to the mass movement for preserving the environment and contribute to a healthy future by planting a tree!
