Information has spread on social media that builders have damaged an oak tree in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent city.
During the investigation conducted by the Tashkent City Department of Ecology, it was determined that the oak tree was transplanted in the Urtachirchik district of the Tashkent region by officials of the company "Max Processing" without complying with the relevant agrotechnical requirements. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated by the Prosecutor's Office of Tashkent city against the employees of the organization and other individuals under Article 198, Part 3, and Article 229 of the Criminal Code.
Furthermore, according to the relevant Order of the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, and Articles 151-153 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a disciplinary investigation has been initiated against the head of the Tashkent City Department of Ecology. As a result, F.D. has been suspended from his duties from December 30, 2023, to February 1, 2024.
According to the document, the disciplinary investigation will examine the activities of the leaders and employees of all structural units of the Tashkent City Department of Ecology, as well as the legality and justification of the permits issued by the Department for the felling of trees and shrubs on land plots not included in the state forest fund during the period of 2021-2023.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Ecology has restricted the authority of the Tashkent City Department of Ecology until February 1 due to the following facts: the requirements of the moratorium are not fully complied with in the capital; a large number of complaints have been received from residents regarding tree felling; permits for felling or transplantation of trees have been repeatedly issued in violation of the law. Currently, permits for tree felling or transplantation will only be issued with the approval of the relevant department of the Ministry.
