On April 20, Minister of Ecology Aziz Abdukhakimov met with Chairman of the Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan Liu Yu and representatives of the Chinese Business Community in the building of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

During the meeting, prospects for strengthening cooperation and strategic partnership in the fields of ecology and environmental protection between the two countries were discussed.

Proposals for the development of "green" technologies, recycling of household and solid waste, prevention of atmospheric air pollution, eco-tourism, and other areas in the field of environmental protection were considered, and priority areas of interaction were identified.

In particular, an exchange of views took place on the review of the technical approach in the fields of waste management, water management, and air pollution, the development of technical and economic foundations for subsequent years, the involvement of experts in the implementation of the program and project coordination, as well as the signing of agreements between companies.

The issues of studying the Chinese experience in landscaping desert areas, creating farms for planting seedlings, attracting investors to install innovative technologies, and wastewater treatment in the urban system were discussed.

Following the meeting, an action plan was signed to develop cooperation between the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change and the Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, which provides for a number of activities.

Among them: the construction of an incinerator, the creation of an industrial park of high technologies, green and low-carbon industry (eco-industrial park), the introduction of an online environmental monitoring system for key pollutant enterprises, the introduction of equipment for wastewater treatment, emissions, solid waste, and noise, cooperation in the field of green research and development, knowledge and experience exchange best practices in combating desertification and creating green belts, etc.
