World Migratory Bird Day (World Migratory Bird Day) is a global environmental campaign whose goal is to increase knowledge about migratory birds, their habitats and ways of movement.

Initially, this international date was celebrated in May, and since 2018 - twice a year, on the second Saturday in May and in October.

The International Convention for the Protection of Birds, signed in 1906, was a historical prerequisite for the establishment of this Day. Numerous public events of the Day, among which the most common are bird festivals,  educational programs, bird watching under the guidance of specialists, and excursions call for the conservation of habitats for migratory birds around the world. Every year they are devoted to a specific topic.

World Migratory Bird Day is held under the auspices of the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) and the African-Asian Agreement on Migratory Birds (AEVA). These two international agreements are known to be part of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). The motto of the Day "Migrating birds and people - together through time" seeks to emphasize the inextricable link between people and birds.
