The 18th World Water Congress is currently taking place in Beijing.
The Congress, organized by the International Water Resources Association (IWRA) and the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the Congress event "One Belt, One Road: Water Resources and the Aquatic Environment," Shamsiddin Kurbanov, an employee of the Ministry of Ecology, presented a report on "Water Resource Management in Uzbekistan." He also made a report on the work being done in the field of water resource protection in the republic.
For reference: The World Water Congress is a large-scale conference that brings together politicians, researchers, and practitioners in the field of water resources from around the world.
The conference is attended by about 600 representatives from over 60 countries and regions, more than 130 international organizations, and around 700 water resource specialists from China. The outcome of the Congress will be the adoption of the Beijing Declaration on the protection and development of water resources worldwide.
The Congress will last until September 15th.
