Aziz Abdukhakimov, the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with the Director-General of the Central and West Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Evgeny Zhukov, during the UN Climate Forum COP28 in Dubai.
For information, ADB is one of Uzbekistan's largest development partners. The bank plans to invest $1 billion in climate reforms in Uzbekistan over the next 5 years.
During the meeting, the cooperation strategy of Uzbekistan for 2024-2028 was discussed. According to the ADB representative, the bank is directing investments to support climate change as one of its priorities for the next 5 years.
It was noted that ADB has extensive experience in implementing projects in our country and currently supports investment in "green" projects aimed at climate protection and environmental conservation in Uzbekistan.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue the cooperation consistently.
