A resident of the "Gulistan" mahalla appealed to the Rishtan district office of the Department of Ecology of the Ferghana region.
The citizen reported that a month ago, a wounded stork flew into the courtyard of his house, to which he provided first aid and care. After the bird's condition improved, the citizen intended to transfer it to state inspectors.
Upon arrival, the state inspectors of the Ferghana Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Department of Ecology of the Rishtan district found out that this is a Turkestan white stork listed in the Red Book.
Currently, the stork is receiving medical care at a specialized veterinary unit at Ferghana Zoo. Once it has fully recovered, the bird will be released back into its natural habitat.
