Regarding the increase of air pollution in Chilanzar, Sergeli, and Yangixayot districts of Tashkent City, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change has conducted environmental monitoring of the activities of enterprises affecting the environment.
In the process of monitoring, 70 enterprises of Chilanzar district belonging to the I and II categories of environmental impact, including producers of concrete, flour products, ceramic tiles, textile-gas, and other products, were sent warning letters to install dust and gas purification equipment. 68 entities of Sergeli district belonging to I and II categories of environmental impact were also warned about the installation of dust and gas cleaning facilities.
In addition, 22 organizations of I and II categories of environmental impact located in Yangixayot district were also issued warning letters on the installation of dust and gas cleaning equipment.
For information, by Article 9 of the Law "On Nature Conservation", 42 enterprises of the capital as of 12 January 2024 have submitted action plans. Out of them, 75 measures of atmospheric air protection were defined.
According to the information provided, 1,517 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects (1,343 last year), 221 Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) projects (206 last year), 371 Air Emission Control (AEC) projects (375 last year), 651 Waste Generation and Disposal Control (WDC) projects (527 last year) and 3 Waste Water Management (WMP) projects (9 compared to last year) will be implemented.
Of the reviewed project documents, 2,392 projects received a positive opinion, 321 were returned for revision, and 50 received a negative opinion. After eliminating these deficiencies, 189 projects received a positive EIA.
In 2022, environmental opinions were given on 2,460 documents, and in 2023 this figure increased by 303. In particular, the enterprises in Chilanzar, Yangixayot, and Sergei districts were inspected, and mandatory instructions on developing ecological regulatory documents were given.
