A delegation from Tadweer (Abu Dhabi) headed by CEO Ali Al-Dhaheri visited the Navoi and Bukhara regions. Guests were accompanied by heads of system organizations of the Ministry of Ecology, Environment, and Climate Change.

Earlier, Ali al-Dhaheri met with the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, Aziz Abdukhakimov. The meeting discussed the prospects of the project "Implementation of an integrated waste management system".

During the visit, meetings were held with the Khokim of the Navoi region, Normat Tursunov, and the Khokim of the Bukhara region, Botir Zaripov. During the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to generating electricity from household waste, introducing a monitoring framework, and promoting "green" energy.

Sharifbek Hasanov, Director of the Republican Center for the Organization of Sanitary and Cleaning Works, stressed that the project will serve to introduce modern, innovative, environmentally friendly technologies and services in the field of waste management, reduce the accumulation of unprocessed waste in landfills, create new jobs, and also contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and toxic organic substances into the atmosphere.

Representatives of the delegation visited landfills and waste processing enterprises in the Navoi and Bukhara regions and got acquainted with the current work on waste removal and treatment. In addition, the delegation became familiar with the interesting sites in Bukhara.

For information, within the framework of the COP28 forum held in Dubai, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change and the company "Tadweer" (Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company — Abu Dhabi Waste Recycling Company) signed the memorandum. The agreement will promote the introduction of modern, innovative, and environmentally friendly technologies and services in the field of solid waste management and increase sustainability. It is also planned to launch a "waste-to-energy" factory in Uzbekistan.
